Move comes weeks after temporarily sourcing McNuggets from U.S. supplier.

McDonald’s Canada said it will temporarily source the patties for its McChicken sandwiches from another supplier, and in the process the meat used in the sandwich will for the time being no longer be from chicken raised without antibiotics.

In a statement to the media, McDonald’s Canada said as a result of “ongoing disruptions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic,” it opted to temporarily source McChicken patties from a “Canadian contingency supplier.”

The announcement involving McChicken patty supplies came several weeks after it announced it would temporarily source its McNuggets from a U.S. supplier.
